Hospital patient safety and quality initiatives

Medicare projects

As Oregon's Medicare Quality Improvement Organization (QIO), Acumentra Health has a long history of assisting Oregon hospitals and professional associations in improving patient care and safety.

In August 2008, Acumentra Health began a new round of QIO work, partnering with Oregon hospitals and nursing homes on focused initiatives to improve patient safety:

Partnership for Patients

Acumentra Health participates in this hospital patient safety initiative, a new public–private partnership launched in May 2011 by the Department of Health and Human Services to help improve the quality, safety and affordability of health care for all Americans. Check our website for updates on our related activities. For more information, visit the Partnership for Patients website.

Oregon IHI Network

Acumentra Health is a member of the Oregon IHI Network, a coalition currently engaged in disseminating and assessing use of the Surgical Safety Checklist in Oregon. The Network provided support for the 5 Million Lives hospital patient safety campaign led by the Institute for Healthcare Improvement, which concluded in December 2008.
